Originally founded way back in 1842, The Citadel is one of the oldest military schools in the nation.

Presently the institution still maintains some of the most effective and rigorous military training and education in the country.

The first year cadets are easily recognized by their clean-shaven heads, a trait that leads them to be called "knobs"by tradition. There are many respected military training facilities, colleges, and universities in the United States and The Citadel is one of them.

The school has a rich historic past and present in our country.
